IIT brand is valued around the world. IIT alumni are creators and beneficiaries of this brand. Thus, protecting and enhancing the brand is especially important to its alumni. IIT brand is equally important to IIT Directors, faculty, students, and staff. There are a number of perceived threats and opportunities for the IIT brand, such as changes in the JEE/ranking process, expansion of the IIT system, MOOCs, emerging universities in India, changing nature of global education, and socio-economic changes in India.
Collective, timely and thoughtful actions by the stakeholders, i.e. IIT alumni, IIT administration and faculty, offers an opportunity to protect and enhance the IIT brand. The session will be a forum to discuss these topics and will also share ideas for protecting and enhancing the IIT brand.
