Can children attend this conference? What is the rate they need to pay?
The day time sessions are professionally conducted events and not suitable for young children. Children over 16 years of age can pay the student rate.
What is the negotiated hotel rate and how do I get that? Will parking be included in the hotel rate?
We are in the process of negotiating a discounted rate with the hotel. The rate will be $129 / night plus tax at the Hilton Americas downtown Houston, which is a Category 5 hotel. You can book this with the hotel directly. Once we confirm the rate, we can let you know.
Unfortunately, parking is not included in the hotel rate. Since you will be in downtown Houston, you may want to take a taxi from the airport rather than rent a car. Additionally, nearby parking lots are available at reduced rates.
How can I volunteer?
You can contact our Networking & Outreach at    Outreach@IIT2013.org

Breaking news

IIT 2013 ended on a high note. Conference team got overwhelmingly positive feedback.

The final numbers were:

Over 1600 attendees, over 90 speakers, over 22 hours of program content, over 6 hours of entertainment, and 100 sponsors, exhibitors and advertisers.

Heartfelt thanks for the tremendous support from sponsors, speakers, delegates, exhibitors, the Pan IIT movement, local Houston community and the volunteers.

This conference was focused on five cutting edge sectors/areas that wove a tapestry of innovations for this not-so-distant future. These five were Sustainability, Technology, Energy, Education and Life Sciences (STEEL).

Conference’s star speakers included Amartya Sen, Gene Kranz, Andrew Gould, Vicente Fox, Renu Khator, David Leebron, Blake Irving, P. Harish, Bharat Desai, Partha S Ghosh, and many others.

In addition, the attendees enjoyed a powerful entertainment package including Usha Uthup, the Fab 5 and Dan Nainan. Usha Uthup just rocked Saturday night, literally bringing the crowd to its feet.

Hope the Houston conference did inspire innovation for tomorrow!
